Crysis 2 (review)

           Crysis 2

This game definitely deserves praise for its amazing detail and graphics, the combat is much more sophisticated. Crysis was a brilliant game and had us thinking: How can someone improve on such an innovative and breathtaking game? Well ,Crytek has really improved on the original. With more and more FPSes constantly in production I was wondering if Crysis 2 could even make a difference in the current market of games. It definitely has, the original Cryisis nanosuit had a small amount of energy storage and you could only run about 2km/h faster. Now you can run faster for longer, punch enemies through windows, stealth kill using the new Stealth mode (An adaptation of the cloak mode), kick cars into enemies and power sprint/jump/slide into cover (Using the new Power mode, a combination of Speed and Strength). Armour mode is also much better, instead of jumping of a two story building and dying, you can now jump of five story buildings and smash down on unexpecting foes. The Nanosuit 2.0 has many new or improved modes: Stealth, Visor, Nano-vision, Power and Armour, You can also use Power, Visor, Nano-vision and Armour or Stealth at the same time. The enemies in Crysis 2 have also been improved, instead of KPA soldiers with the odd Nanosuit and a few Cephalapods, you know have to fend off against nano equipped CELL agents, a wide variety  of new Ceph forms and some Ceph dropships.

Crysis 2 will often leave you thinking something like: Did I just bombard a dropship with grenades, causing it to hit a tank and explode destroying nearby cars and anyone unlucky enough to be standing close to the tank, while kicking a flaming car at a Ceph Stalker causing his gelatinous flesh to splat all over your visor and shooting a Ceph Heavy with a microwave cannon until he explodes into small pieces of metal and jelly that makes the poor CELL agent to fly through a deli window?

The multiplayer is also brilliant, as you progress through the campaign you will find unique dogtags and nano-catalyst shards to upgrade your very own Nano-suit. If you do not have internet access there are still many reasons to buy this game. Although Crysis 2 is slightly pricy, it is definitely worth it. If you were a fan of Crysis, Halo or any COD or MOH games, then Crysis 2 will probably be a good buy. Crysis 2 has all the realism of COD an MOH combined with th sci-fi and drama of any Halo game. If you are wondering whether to buy say, Halo Reach, Homefront or Crysis 2, get Crysis 2. Personnaly I think Crysis 2 has the potential to become the FPS of the year.

Good side: Great detail in graphics, awesome weapons, many tactical advantages and CryEngiene 3

Bad side: A few bugs, can be hard and sometimes confusing

Bottom line: If you have to chose between 3 wishes and Crysis 2, chose the former (Only if one wish is to get Crysis 2)                  Rating: 93/100
